Finally So You Think You Can Dance took at step up in the world and brought some Indian dance to the show! YAY!!!!
(Lets see if it gets a stamp of approval from Ms. BrownSuga)
One minute and 40 seconds of complete and total brilliance.
Katee & Joshua take on a Mia Michaels routine.
So my boy Danny didn't win. :( Oh well, it's true that anyone of them would've been worthy...but he was so special.
Anyway, you go Sabra! You're a cute little thing with loads of talent and drive and I hope this takes you very far.
And now, a kick ass hip hop routine featuring America's Favorite Dancer, Sabra Johnson and Dominic Sandoval who is a BRILLIANT b-boy. Check out their freeze towards the end. So fly.
Lets talk for a moment about the most under-rated reality TV show on the air, "So you think you can dance". This show kicks American Idol right in the pants. Like Idol, it starts out with the ridiculous auditioning phase where all the crazies and the wicked talented come out to play. I'm quickly losing interest in the shock value stages of these shows, even though it is worth it to stick around for the occasional star that pops up to please the judges. But we all know the truth, the crazies don't HAVE to be there to begin with. They simply make good television so the winners of the preliminary auditions are splintered into two groups, those who can dance and those who cannot. Or in Idol's case, those who can sing and oh so NOT sing.
So getting past the annoying bull crap that makes up the first several weeks of the show, you end up with some pretty amazing people to watch. The dancers come from all back grounds ranging from Hip Hop, Break Dance, Modern/Contemporary, Ballet, Ballroom, Tap and Jazz. The top 20 dancers of this season are by far some of the most talented people I've seen in my life. We are now down to the final 4 (yikes) and tonight we find out who is crowned the winner.
All four of them are brilliant. But I'm hoping the winner will be Danny Tidwell. Last night his line was busy until the time I passed out in bed so I never got to vote for him :( But my mom voted for him several times, I'm hoping that will help. I don't know why I couldn't get through. Anyway, he's just....incredible. He spent the first several weeks in the top 20 ending up in the bottom 3 couples every week. I just couldn't figure it out. He and his partner, Anya, were just AMAZING. But...I wasn't inclined to vote for them. And I think it was Anya that was bringing them down. The judges eventually voted her off and after that happened, Danny took off. I will show you what I mean below. He's just...incredible. He was adopted at the age of 10 by a woman who runs a dance studio in the Seattle area named Denise Wall. Her biological son, Danny's adopted brother Travis, was the runner up last season.
Without further Ado, I bring you some clips of Danny. He is truly the most gifted of the dancers in all three seasons and, as it has been pointed out by some of the choreographers on the show, he WILL go down in history as one of the best dancers EVER. I'm serious. Just look at his leaps and turns. I've never seen anything like it. He's just....redonk!!
