Gringa in teh big city!!
Hey all! I hope you are enjoying your Wednesdays thus far.
I'm writing this post today to get myself stoked for my upcoming trip to Mexico City, exact dates still to be determined but this will likely be happening at the very end of April. This is sort of a birthday gift to myself. Two of my best friends, Joy and Brendan, moved to Mexico City a few months back. They really love it there. Joy's always bragging about the insanely perfect weather, never ending supply of flowers and fresh produce and the wonderful birds and other creatures that abound. I really cannot wait to see it for myself!!!
I'm on a quest to chill with the Xolos!! No...not gangsters...REAL Xolos aka Hairless Doggies. (Pronounced Chollos)
Here are some xolos chillin with a statue of a xolo. Apparently they like to hang out with the fake one which I think is unbelievably funny.
So yay! I hope you've enjoyed the pics taken by the lovely Joy Victory, author of El Blog De Joy and Squirrels Squirrels Squirrels.
This is a bonus photo, my favorite ever taken by Joy. It hangs in my bedroom. She took it at a market in a border town, not sure which one. She's really good, isn't she??

So jealous! I have heard wonderful things about Mexico City - apart from all the nastiness you hear about Mexico City. How great that you can go with friends who know their way around.
Have an amazing time! Whee!
I'll have to settle for the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Phila Museum of Art.
Yeah, I need to make the effort to get down there, I don't think i've been there since hi skool.
I is jealous. waah.
(LOVE the dogs hanging out with the statue!!)
Oh the COLORS of Mexico City!!!
&:o)
thanks for sharing those-- I had no idea it was so lovely!
I love the stained glass owl and the *statue* doggies. I had to do a double take of that one. The look like part of the display!
You have a blast, Amiga Gringa!
